Read your musings on the ‘Gay Pride’ parade in New Delhi with interest.I still remember Pulapre Balakrishnan’s call to me around 2 AM from Oxford, when I used to live in Chennai, to tell me that he had come out, and that he was visiting India soon and wanted to spend a few days with me.
I have always been supportive of the LGT community, and found the Indian Government’s attitude repressive and outdated.
Living in the US now, I find there is still pockets of right-wing resistance even here, with their holier than thou attitudes.
At last the Indian Court ( even if only in Delhi) has realized that its time to repeal an archaic law. Lets hope this is the start of a true social change in India.
